Joins onto Satellite IP via the provider column to enrich any matching range with the operator's display name and homepage. orbits says which orbits its service runs through, segments the markets it sells to, and features carries flags such as cgnat, where subscribers share addresses, and public_ip_option. A segment or flag is set only on the operator's own word, so an absent one means unknown. parent names the operator's corporate parent where one is confirmed, defunct says whether the operator itself is gone, and note says in a line what it sells.

Schema
Name
Type
Description
id
string
Satellite operator's unique ID, which the satellite_ip_v1 dataset's provider column carries.
name
string
Human-readable name of the operator.
url
string
Operator's homepage URL.
active
boolean
Whether we track this operator's addresses, now or before it went defunct ("t" or "f").
orbits
string
Pipe-joined orbits of the satellites the operator's service runs through (e.g. "meo|geo"). Values are listed below.
leo
Low Earth orbit: a constellation a few hundred to about 1,200 km up, such as Starlink's. Round trips are tens of milliseconds.
meo
Medium Earth orbit, about 8,000 km up, such as SES's O3b. Round trips are about 120 to 150 ms.
geo
Geostationary orbit, about 35,786 km up over the equator. Round trips are about 600 ms or more.
segments
string
Pipe-joined markets the operator sells to (e.g. "consumer|maritime"), each on the operator's own word, so an absent one means unknown rather than not sold. Values are listed below.
consumer
Residential satellite broadband sold to homes and small offices.
enterprise
Satellite links sold to businesses, governments and aid agencies: VSAT networks, branch and remote sites.
maritime
Connectivity on ships, yachts, cruise liners and offshore platforms.
aviation
In-flight connectivity on aircraft.
features
string
Pipe-joined flags about the operator's service (e.g. "cgnat|ipv6"), each set only on the operator's explicit word, so an absent flag means unknown rather than false. Values are listed below.
cgnat
Subscribers share public IPv4 addresses behind carrier-grade NAT, so one address can carry many unrelated users at once.
public_ip_option
Subscribers can get a public IPv4 address of their own on some plans or as an add-on, so one of its addresses can belong to one subscriber.
ipv6
Subscribers are given IPv6 addresses.
sold_through_partners
The operator sells its service through ISPs, resellers or distribution partners, so a subscriber may know it by another company's brand.
parent
string
The operator's corporate parent company, by name, or empty where none is confirmed. A fund or a state that owns an operator is not its parent.
note
string
Public note about the operator (may be empty).
defunct
boolean
Whether the operator itself is gone ("t" or "f"): its service ended, or its website's domain no longer exists. Independent of active, which an operator we tracked keeps after it goes defunct.
